Dr. Jerred Johnson assumed the role of Chief Executive Officer at the VFW National Home in 2026, bringing more than 23 years of Army National Guard service and a strong commitment to supporting veterans and their families. He retired at the rank of Captain and earned distinctions including the Combat Action Badge, Air Assault Badge, two Meritorious Service Medals, the Iraqi Campaign Medal, and multiple federal and state commendations. His military experience—both at home and abroad—shaped his deep understanding of the challenges veterans face.
Dr. Johnson holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing and a Master’s Degree in Management from Davenport University, as well as a Doctorate in Business Administration from National University. His academic background strengthens his ability to develop mission-focused programs for the veteran community.
In addition to his work at the National Home, he serves as an Adjunct Professor at Cleary University, teaching graduate and undergraduate courses and mentoring future leaders. Outside of work, Dr. Johnson enjoys traveling, attending sporting events, and spending time with his five daughters—Amaya, Kiarah, Makenna, Saharra, and Khaleseya—and his two dogs.
