Recently we were blessed to have three wonderful women volunteering on our campus. Jane Montgomery from Indiana, Julie Schulte, and Denise Mohr, both from Iowa, have been working very hard on projects related to our Museum renovation. All three of them have spent the majority of their adult lives making volunteerism a priority, and passing this down on to their children. Julie shared that when her children were younger, she used to take them on volunteer vacations, to New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina and to work in Soup Kitchens in Los Angeles. The women spent four days here on our campus, painting the archive room at the back of the new museum and undertaking the massive project of sorting, scanning, and organizing boxes and boxes of photographs from our old museum.
We are so thankful that there are wonderful volunteers like Julie, Denise, and Jane that take the time from their busy lives to come and offer their help to use here at the National Home. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Sue Alverson at 517-663-7983.
