National Home staff always look forward to August, when we welcome our friends from the VFW Departments of Ohio and Michigan to campus. Last year’s weekend was rainy, but we couldn’t have asked for better weather this year, as we enjoyed pleasant temperatures and a wonderful summer breeze!
The weekend started with a friendly golf tournament on Friday, where department leadership squared off to see who would win and who would bring home the golden toilet seat!
On Saturday, we welcomed our fun-loving friends from Ohio to our campus for our annual Ohio Day.
On Sunday, it was Michigan’s turn to enjoy their day on campus!
It was a successful weekend for the National Home as both departments brought cleaning supplies and donations and enjoyed guided campus tours, interacting with National Home families, an update from our Executive Director and Program Director, and a picnic lunch.
