The National Home celebrated the accomplishments of Board President, Dave Ouellette as his term came to an end at the Annual Meeting of Life Members. But don’t worry, he’ll still be serving another year on the board as District 1 Trustee! David “Dave” Ouellette joined the VFW in 1986 at Post #10722 in Pelham, NH, maintaining his VFW Gold Legacy Life Membership. He served on the VFW National Council of Administration 2012-2013 and was Department Commander 2010-2011. He also served as a District and Post Commander, National Aide-de-Camp, and on the National Resolutions and Program committees. He is a member of the Military Order of the Cootie Pup Tent 1, and is currently serving as the Grand Commander of New Hampshire. He also is a member of the American Legion, Vietnam Veterans Association, and Air Force Association. Ouellette served in the U.S. Air Force from 1967-1971, providing air support as a B-52 Aircraft Maintenance Tail Gunner Mechanic. A veteran of the Vietnam War, his overseas tours included U-Tapao Royal Thai Navy Airfield, Thailand; Kadena AFB, Okinawa; and Anderson AFB, Guam. He has 40 years of building maintenance experience, including 25 years in various management positions. He has volunteered for many youth sport organizations, and was involved in initiating a Pelham American Legion baseball team. Ouellette and his wife, Kate, reside in Pelham, NH. They have three sons, two granddaughters, and two grandsons. “We all have sincerely appreciated your positive style of leadership this past year.” Executive Director, Patrice Green told him at the Annual Meeting. “Your willingness to listen to each person, and your unfailing courtesy and kindness helps to bring people together and that is how good things happen! As your presidency comes to a close today, we are so pleased to know that your term on the Board will continue for another year. Congratulations on a job well done!”
