Nearly 300 racers turned out last month for the VFW Post #805 0.1K race in O’Fallon, Illinois. The race course, all 328 feet of it, began at the train car in Downtown O’Fallon. From there racers ran straight, stopping at the hydration station at the halfway point at South Cherry Street, and then finishing in front of the VFW post. It took the first place runner under two minutes to complete the race. Paul and Sharon Zinck organized the event, now in its third year. VFW Post #3873 in Naperviille also hosts a 0.1K race, and between the two posts, they have raised more than $40,000 for the National Home, not counting this year’s race!
