The VFW National Home is pleased to announce our newest home sponsor. The VFW Department of South Carolina, its Auxiliary, the Military Order of the Cootie (MOC), and the Military Order of the Cootie Auxiliary (MOCA) have assumed sponsorship of the home previously known as the New Jersey House.

Constructed in 1929, the home offers 1,933 square feet of living space with three bedrooms, two full baths, and one-half bath. It was originally built by the Department of New Jersey, which faithfully sponsored the home until January 1, 2026.
The home was formally dedicated to the Department of South Carolina during the February Board of Trustees meeting, with Commander Todd Haviland present for the dedication ceremony. Prior to this, the Department of South Carolina had generously sponsored the Guest Lodge Annex since 2020.
Building sponsorship represents a meaningful commitment to the National Home and is critical to our ability to serve veteran families. Home sponsors help provide for a home’s annual expenses, including utilities, lawn care, trash removal, and ongoing maintenance and repairs.
