The National Home thanks Virginia Carman for her year of service as President of the Board of Truste

The National Home took time during its Annual Meeting of Life Members to thank outgoing Board of Trustees president Virginia Carman for her service to the National Home. While this marked the end of Virginia’s term as president, the National Home will continue to benefit from her expertise and leadership for one more year, as her term on the board continues through 2017. Virginia, a member of the VFW Auxiliary Department of Washington, has had a distinguished career, holding many leadership positions including National President in 2007-2008. In October of 2015, her fellow trustees elected Virginia as the President of the National Home Board. As President, and Chairman of the Executive Committee, Virginia was known for her clear communications and thoughtful and solid recommendations on matters coming before the board. She strove to allow the opinions of all members to be heard, and she was able to bring about team consensus through her leadership. Virginia clearly values the important work being done here at the VFW National Home for Children – and appreciates all the VFW and Auxiliary members who make this Home possible. Virginia, on behalf of the Board and the staff and families of the National Home, thank you for your years of support, hard work and leadership. Your distinguished service to our veterans and their children and families will be remembered and valued for years to come, and on behalf of your fellow trustees, we are certainly grateful to have you with us as a trustee for one more year! Thank you, Virginia.
