National Home Opens Veteran & Family Resource Center

On October 22nd, Trustees, residents, and VFW & Auxiliary leadership gathered for a ribbon cutting ceremony to officially open the doors of our Veteran & Family Resource Center, located in the lower level of our Health & Education building.

This resource center was created to offer our veterans and families opportunities on campus to access resources from the community that they may be eligible for.

Currently, we have representatives from the employment, education, and quality of life sectors of the community ready to occupy spaces in the center as well as members of the Michigan National Guard Servicemember and Veteran Service Center.

The vision for this center is to create a comfortable and safe space for veterans and families to go to find resources locally that will support their needs.

Brian Lorente

Family & Veteran Resource Manger, Brian Lorente, who manages the center has worked very hard to develop a list of agencies and organizations willing to utilize the center to make their services more accessible to our families.

We are strategizing ways to continue the growth of the center by surveying our residents for what services they need or would like to see available in the center.
