Nancy Bowers: 30+ Years of Heart, Service, and Alumni Connections!

March 26, 2026

After more than three decades of dedicated service, Nancy Bowers is stepping into a new chapter—one that feels like a natural extension of everything she’s built over the years. Please join us in congratulating Nancy on her new role as the primary contact for National Home alumni!

For more than 30 years, Nancy has been a familiar and trusted presence at the National Home. Since joining the team in 1987, shortly after graduating from Michigan State University with a degree in Animal Science, she has played an integral role in shaping the experiences of countless residents. What began as a position focused on recreation and the 4-H program quickly grew into a lifelong calling—one rooted in connection, consistency, and care.

It’s hard to find a former resident who doesn’t know Nancy. Through her involvement in daily life and programming, she has been a steady, supportive figure for generations of children who have called the National Home their home.

In her new role, Nancy will serve as the main point of contact for alumni, helping former residents stay connected not only to the National Home, but to one another. It’s a role that perfectly reflects her gift for building relationships and fostering a sense of belonging. And in true Nancy fashion, she’ll continue supporting the 4-H program and recreation activities that have long been at the heart of her work.

While much has evolved at the National Home over the years, Nancy is quick to point out what has remained the same: the strength of its traditions, the power of its partnerships, and its unwavering commitment to serving military and veteran families.

Nancy’s impact is woven into the fabric of the National Home—and now, in this new role, she’ll continue to strengthen that legacy for years to come. Congratulations, Nancy!
