On Saturday, October 25, the VFW Department of Missouri and its Auxiliary, joined by their Wisconsin counterparts, transformed an ordinary fall day into an unforgettable festival. Missouri set the scene with a nostalgic Route 66 theme, while Wisconsin brought the spirit of the ’50s to life with their Grease-inspired outfits. Not to be outdone, the VFW National Home Board of Trustees transported everyone back to the Roaring Twenties, strutting in with dazzling flapper dresses and sharp suits.

The Community Center Gym was transformed into a lively blend of Grease and Route 66, with every corner buzzing with excitement. Game stations lined the walls, and each child received a ‘pit stop passport’ to track their adventure. With every new station, happy checkmarks filled their cards, and at the journey’s end, they were rewarded with bags overflowing with treats and surprises.

As the festival drew to a close, anticipation filled the air for the pumpkin and costume contests. Pumpkins dazzled in categories like Prettiest, Funniest, and Most Creative, while kids of all ages strutted their stuff in costumes that ranged from adorable to downright spooky. The judges had their work cut out for them! In the end, laughter echoed through the gym, and everyone left with sweet memories (and plenty of candy). A heartfelt thank you goes out to everyone from the VFW Departments of Missouri and Wisconsin and their Auxiliaries—your dedication turned this fall festival into a truly magical day.
