A Renewed Welcome: Guest Lodge Renovation Strengthens Support for Families

February 3, 2026

The VFW National Home’s Guest Lodge has long been a place of comfort—offering families, visiting loved ones, and community partners a welcoming space during important moments at the Home. Thanks to a grant from the State of Michigan, that space has now been thoughtfully renovated to better serve those who rely on it.

The renovation refreshed both the interior and essential infrastructure of the Guest Lodge, ensuring the building is safe, accessible, and comfortable for years to come. Improvements focused on functionality and durability, creating an environment that reflects the dignity and care extended to every family connected to the National Home.

While the grant funded the physical renovation, it is the generosity of donors that brings the Guest Lodge to life every day. From hosting visiting relatives to accommodating partners and supporters who travel to the Home, the Lodge plays an important role in strengthening the National Home community.

The VFW National Home is grateful to the State of Michigan for investing in this important project—and equally grateful to our donors, whose continued partnership ensures that every space on our campus reflects care, stability, and respect for the families we serve.

Your support makes projects like this possible. Together, we provide safe, welcoming spaces where families of our nation’s veterans feel cared for and at home.
