A Fall Update From Executive Director, Mike Wilson

Nine months have passed in the blink of an eye it seems. What a busy and fun summer at the VFW National Home. So many great things going on around campus all summer, and positive energy filled the air daily. The campus work group, 4H livestock show and sale at the county fair, Cup-A-Joe veteran networking opportunities, and so much more. Let’s not forget a very exciting Junior Vice Orientation and state days! If you see me with sunglasses, you’ll know why. It’s so bright and enthusiastic around here, I hate to see summer end.
Fortunately, I don’t see it slowing down even in the fall months and early winter leading into the holidays. Our motto of “building strong families” is seen daily on campus. We grow and learn together, we work together for a common goal, and it feels good to be part of this community of achievement.
As we bring Veterans and their Families into our family here at the National Home, we will continue to grow and learn together. We will be sure in November to give thanks to our God for the gifts He’s given and to those who support us for the sake of those who gave us these freedoms. We look forward to the holiday season and a chance to take time with family, exchange a few gifts and be together with those we love. Thank you for all you do to make this place so special for those who’ve earned our freedom with their hard work, blood, sweat, and tears, and sometimes, their life.
Thank you for your continued support and service.
