41st Annual Piano Recital

This week the National Home community held the 41st annual piano recital! Eight kids this year tickled the ivories and entertained family and friends. These kids work so hard every year with their teacher Rhonda Kennedy who has been teaching piano at the National Home for 39 years. The only requirements for piano lessons are that the student is at least eight years old and has an interest in learning music. This year our little trumpeter returned, and he brought along another instrument as well, a French Horn! The horn was donated to the National Home along with a beginning French Horn book, and he took it upon himself to teach himself how to play it! For one child, this was her last piano recital at the National Home and an emotional one. At the end of the recital, she presented Ms. Kennedy with flowers and a poster she had made for her. Tears were shed, and hugs were shared. It is clear how much their teacher means to them. Thank you, Rhonda, for all of your years of dedication and congratulations kids on another great piano recital!
