Jan Owens

Past National President Jan Owens of Conway, S.C., is a Life Member of North Myrtle Beach Auxiliary 10804.

She has been actively involved in the organization since joining on the eligibility of her father, Arlen Owens, a World War II U.S. Army veteran and Purple Heart recipient.

She has served as Auxiliary and District President, and in 1993-1994, she was named Runner-up Department President of the Year in her membership group. On the National Auxiliary level, she has served as Publicity Director, Patriotic Instructor, and as Chairmen for the Southern Conference on the Americanism and Hospital programs.

During her time as National Auxiliary President from 2009-2010, she raised over $150,000 for a bus for the National Home’s Early Education Center.  Jan also spent her time as National Secretary-Treasurer from 2010-2017, encouraging and assisting many VFW Auxiliary National Presidents to do other successful special projects for the VFW National Home.

Since leaving her position as National Secretary-Treasurer, Jan has returned to her home in Conway, where she is enjoying family time at the beach.
